3D Direct Modeling Basic Commands

This tutorial shows how you can create complex models using powerful direct modeling technology that combines the best of two worlds: parametric and direct modeling.

Commands like chamfer, fillet, push/pull and extrude are all just one click away with the newly designed quad cursor. All designed bodies can be save as separate components. Bricscad also comes with a library which contains more than 30 thousands standard parts.

Using the context-sensitive quad cursor, your mouse movements are significantly reduced.

  • Great tutorial. But the problem I have is that my solid is always transparent…so I see the lines through the front surface etc.

Once I get that then I can start look at push / pull through the solid to form the hollows.

    • Hi Nick – you can change Visual Styles to see your solids in a number of ways. Access these from the Properties panel of a selected solid, or simply go to the pulldown menus – View | Visual Styles.
