BricsCAD BIM basics: Selection modes

In this video we’ll show the basics of selections and selection modes. Selection modes are a basic tool of BIM, but nonetheless important to master the basics to modeling.

Where can you find the selection modes?

Turn on the Ribbon and you’ll find them in the setting sections. To acces the toolbar, right click in one of the headers, select BricsCAD and scroll down to select the Selection Modes.

The different Selection Modes

Solid Face: Select a Face or push tab to cycle between several options. Hover over a face, hold CTRL and the overall solid is highlighted.
Edges Selection Mode: Hover or use TAB to highlight an edge.
Boundary Selection Mode: Select a surface between two walls instead of the total length of the wall.
Try them out yourselves!

In the next BricsCAD BIM basic tutorial we’ll show how you can work with surfaces in creative ways.
